Scallion pancakes
Serving size: Makes 5 large pancakes or 20 mini ones
Scallion pancakes that have been rolled a bit too thick
The perfect side dish for scallion pancakes: rice porrige, made from 1 cups of rice and 10 cups of water, garnished with sesame oil, soy sauce, minced ginger, and the leftover green onions
Ingredients
- 4 cups flour
- 2 tsp salt
- More than 1 cup chopped green onions
- More than 1 cup water
- Vegetable oil
Instructions
Mix all the ingredients. Squish into flat pancakes, about a half centimeter thick, using a rolling pin. Put enough vegetable oil in a frying pan to cover the surface, but not so much that there will be leftover oil when you're done cooking. Fry the pancakes on medium heat. Serve with jook (and of course, serve the jook with soy sauce, sesame oil, & ginger).
