Snickerdoodles
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (salted) butter
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 3/2 cups sugar (+2 tbsp for coating)
- 2 eggs
- 11/4 (2+3/4) cups flour
- 2 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- More than 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- Ground cardamom (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F. Mix wet ingredients & dry ingredients separately, then combine. Prepare cinnamon and sugar (and cardamom) mixutre. Roll dough into balls and roll those in the coating. Toss them on a baking sheet and bake until the edges are set but the centers are soft, roughly 8-10 minutes.
